Duong, Nguyet Anh

Abstract

Duong Nguyet Anh left Vietnam with her family on a helicopter piloted by her brother on April 28, 1975, before the Fall of Saigon. They were transferred both on small boats and naval ships that took them to Subic Bay in the Philippines, then to the refugee camp in Guam before they were given political asylum in the United States. After resettling in the US as a young adult, she graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, earning a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. degree in Computer Science. In her professional career, she is best known for assembling and leading a team of scientists and engineers to develop a Thermobaric bomb.
