Vo, Hubert

Abstract

Hubert Vo is a Texas state representative for district 149 and currently the first and only Vietnamese American to be elected to the Texas legislature. He describes his ten-day boat journey out of Vietnam to the Philippines and then Fort Chaffee for processing when he was nineteen years old. He also talks about the challenges his family faced as refugees in a new country.
