Ut, Huynh Cong (Nick)
Abstract
Huỳnh Công Út, known as Nick Ut, recounts his experiences as a photojournalist and his Pulitzer-prize-winning photo, that of the napalm bombing of the village of Trang Bang, where he photographed a nine-year-old unclothed and badly burned Kim Phuc running toward the camera. Along with Kim Phuc, he recounts the aftermath, beginning with the harrowing ride to the local hospital to get her the proper treatment. He also speaks more broadly about the horrors of war, and of the role some credit him with in bringing about the end of the war.
